DALLAS, TX — Dallas police have arrested three individuals after a dramatic incident at a Northeast Dallas apartment complex on Thursday. The suspects, 17-year-old Eric Lampkin-Scarborough, 21-year-old Damon Price, and 19-year-old Deantae Moore, were involved in a stolen truck pursuit that led to the ramming of two police cruisers.
Moore, wanted on two counts of capital murder for the March killings of 18-year-olds Camren Stacy and Kamari Smith-Capps, was apprehended along with the others after fleeing the stolen truck. Investigators say Moore had been messaging Smith-Capps about purchasing “Glock Switches” before the shooting, and his phone was traced near the crime scene.
When officers attempted to stop the red truck, it crashed into police vehicles, prompting a brief foot chase. Moore and Price were arrested, but Lampkin-Scarborough, who was armed at the time, was shot and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Price faces charges including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault of a public servant, and a probation violation. Police recovered three guns in the area and are still searching for a fourth suspect who fled the scene.
Chief Eddie Garcia plans to release more details and footage of the incident in the coming days.
