A 17-year-old student at Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, has been arrested on charges of terrorizing after allegedly posting a threat on social media. Thomas M. Ross was taken into custody by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) following a tip received on Tuesday morning, January 28.

The post, made on January 26, reportedly stated that Ross would bring a handgun to school. A School Resource Officer located Ross on campus, where he was advised of his Miranda rights. According to CPSO officials, Ross confessed to making the post during questioning.

He was arrested and booked into Caddo Correctional Center at 12:44 p.m. on a charge of terrorizing. As of now, no bond amount has been set for his release. The incident highlights the growing concerns about social media threats in schools and the steps law enforcement takes to ensure student safety.
