CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Thomas James Vesey III, 49, of Cedar Rapids, has been arrested in connection with a weekend shooting that left one man seriously injured.
According to Cedar Rapids police, officers responded around 4 a.m. Sunday to the 300 block of 30th Street Drive SE, where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near a residence.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains hospitalized, authorities said.
Vesey has been charged with attempted murder, willful injury resulting in serious injury, and felon in possession of a firearm. He was taken to the Linn County Correctional Center following his arrest.
Police have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
