WILMINGTON, DE – Three individuals have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington. The thefts, which took place between September and November 2024, involved the stealing of nearly 200 bronze ceremonial vases, totaling more than $100,000 in stolen property.
The suspects, 34-year-old Thomas Hudson, 32-year-old Ashley Newcomb, and 37-year-old Alonza Mosley, all from Newark, Delaware, were charged with theft and related offenses. According to the Delaware State Police, the suspects trespassed onto cemetery property after-hours, using large bags or backpacks to steal the vases from individual gravestones.
The suspects then sold the stolen items at a recycling center in New Castle while impersonating another person to complete the transactions. After months of investigation, police identified Hudson, Newcomb, and Mosley as the perpetrators. A search and arrest warrant led to their capture at a residence in Newark on Wednesday.
Each suspect is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution or Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on secured bonds, with the investigation still ongoing. A fourth suspect has not yet been identified.
