In a shocking incident, a thief stole a police patrol vehicle, known as “Cheetah,” from right outside the Dhanvantri Nagar police station in Jabalpur. On October 15, while officers were engaged in their duties, the thief drove off with the patrol bike, which is crucial for law enforcement’s rapid response to street crimes. The theft was captured on CCTV, and police are now investigating to identify and apprehend the suspect, with Dhanvantri Nagar officers actively reviewing the footage.
In a separate case, Jabalpur police have registered an FIR against Narendra Tomar, the operator of Hal Agri Farmer Producer Company Ltd., for allegedly defrauding over 110 farmers out of Rs1.68 crore. This incident dates back to 2023 when the FPO purchased 5,078 bags of chickpeas from local farmers at Mayank Warehouse. Upon inspection, the chickpeas were found to be substandard, and the FPO was supposed to return them.
Instead of returning the chickpeas, the FPO reportedly submitted falsified receipts to the Agriculture Department, claiming the chickpeas had been returned. This involved 3,162 quintals of chickpeas valued at Rs1.68 crore, which were never given back to the farmers. After the farmers raised their concerns with the district collector, the Agriculture Department lodged a formal complaint, leading to Tomar’s arrest by the Charghawan police station authorities.
