Thane Police Arrest Ritik Dubey in Mumbra Murder Case

Man killed, another injured near Mumbra temple

In a violent incident near a temple in Mumbra, Thane district, a man was killed and another seriously injured on Monday night, police said. The Thane Police have arrested the key accused, Ritik Vinay Dubey, also known as Pandit, in connection with the attack.

According to Senior Inspector Anil Shinde of Mumbra Police Station, Dubey and several other persons allegedly assaulted two men—Abhijit Bhaskar Patil (20) and Sumit Sunil Gawde (22)—with sharp weapons around 9 PM. Patil succumbed to his injuries, while Gawde is receiving treatment at a hospital.

The motive behind the attack is currently under investigation. Dubey has been formally charged under murder and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further inquiries are ongoing to apprehend the other accused involved in the crime.
