The Thane Crime Branch Unit Two has arrested two suspects for their involvement in a robbery where they broke into a warehouse and stole valuables. The suspects, identified as Dilip Chavan (20) and Arjun Rathod (23), hail from Karnataka.
An FIR was registered at Narpoli police station against unknown persons on March 7, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including house breaking and theft. The police quickly initiated an investigation.
Through technical intelligence and CCTV footage analysis from the surrounding area, the police were able to track down the suspects in Bhiwandi. They seized 26 laptops and a motorcycle worth over Rs24 lakh from their possession.
The investigation revealed that Chavan and Rathod followed a specific modus operandi. They would conduct a recce of potential targets, then use chisels and hammers to break into warehouses and steal valuables. Another FIR has been filed against them for house breaking at the Bhiwandi Taluka Police Station.
