A Thai man, Pratin, has been arrested for the brutal murder of his sister-in-law, Worrakanok Thepphimon, the 57-year-old deputy secretary of Khlong Sam Sub-district Office in Pathum Thani, near Bangkok. The victim was found dead in her home on November 9 with multiple stab wounds and a deep cut to her neck.
Worrakanok’s younger sister, Bongkot Kaewklom, discovered the body. She told police she heard Worrakanok scream and rushed to check on her, only to find her sister already dead. Authorities believe family conflict may have been the motive, especially since the victim had disapproved of Pratin’s relationship with Bongkot.
Pratin, who worked at the same sub-district office as Worrakanok, had entered into a relationship with her sister despite the victim’s objections. Worrakanok had even offered to help Bongkot financially in an effort to end the relationship, which may have sparked the fatal anger in Pratin. Police also suspect that Bongkot and Pratin may have been motivated by the desire to inherit family assets.
After questioning, Pratin was arrested and five knives were seized from his home for DNA testing. The investigation is ongoing, with police yet to confirm the exact motive behind the murde
