Alexander Alton McDavid, a 35-year-old man from Texas, has been arrested after allegedly attacking his 67-year-old girlfriend, inflicting third-degree burns on her. McDavid, referred to as a ‘toyboy’ due to the age difference, was charged with a series of serious offences, including assault with bodily injury, continuous violence against a family member, injury to an elderly person, resisting arrest, and terroristic threats.

The incident occurred on February 28, when McDavid allegedly became enraged after claiming his girlfriend was “talking too much.” In a fit of rage, McDavid reportedly struck a plate of hot soup that the victim had just removed from the microwave. The boiling liquid splashed across her right shoulder and forearm, causing severe third-degree burns.

Unable to immediately seek help due to a lack of a car and phone, the elderly victim didn’t report the attack until days later when she visited a Social Security office. There, she was able to report the abuse to the police. Officers took photographs of the injuries and documented her statement, which included previous incidents of abuse, such as being choked by McDavid in the past. However, she had not previously reported these assaults.

McDavid was taken into custody and booked into McLennan County Jail, where he faces a $130,000 bond. This isn’t McDavid’s first encounter with the law for domestic violence; he has been convicted twice for family violence assault, once in 2017 and again in 2021.
