Terry Pendleton Arrested for Impersonating Police on I-25

Man used fake police lights and sirens to bypass traffic in Lone Tree

by Sophia Bennett

The Lone Tree Police Department arrested Terry Pendleton, 58, after an investigation revealed he was using a vehicle equipped with fake police lights and sirens to get through traffic on Interstate 25.

Pendleton owns a black Ford Explorer that was modified with red and blue lights, a siren, and a public address system. Police said he used these features to maneuver through traffic as if he were a law enforcement officer.

The department confirmed that Pendleton has never worked in law enforcement. He was booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of impersonating a police officer.

Authorities warn that impersonating police is a serious offense and anyone caught using such devices to deceive the public will face legal consequences.
