Holmes County, FL — A local man was arrested on grand theft charges after allegedly taking $40,000 from a homeowner and failing to complete promised repairs.

According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), Terron Patrick was hired to repair a home damaged by a tornado. The homeowner paid Patrick $40,000 in advance, but he reportedly did not show up to perform the work and refused to contact the homeowner afterward.

An investigation revealed that Patrick did not have a valid contractor’s license. The homeowner filed a complaint in October 2025, and deputies obtained an arrest warrant. Patrick was taken into custody on Wednesday.

He has been charged with grand theft and contracting without a license, and the investigation is ongoing.
