Athens, GA — A local man, Terrance Turner, was arrested on May 23, 2025, after being caught selling drugs from his car with his 7-year-old son in the front seat, according to the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force.
Police observed Turner allegedly making drug transactions on Barnett Shoals Road. Upon conducting a traffic stop, officers detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle.
Turner’s son was turned over to a relative before the vehicle was searched. Inside the car, authorities discovered:
Three jars of marijuana in the center console
A backpack in the trunk containing a larger quantity of marijuana
THC wax
Plastic bags and a vacuum sealer plugged into a music amplifier
Turner was charged with:
Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
Possession of a controlled substance
Authorities noted that Turner already had an aggravated assault case pending in Superior Court. He is currently being held without bail in pretrial detention.
Officials have stated that the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) will be notified due to the child’s presence during the alleged drug activity.
