In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Telangana Prohibition and Excise department’s State Task Force (STF) teams arrested eight individuals, including a United States citizen, during coordinated operations across Hyderabad. Authorities seized over 41 grams of cocaine and MDMA, along with vehicles and mobile phones used in the crimes.
On August 23, 2025, the STF-A team raided multiple locations near Vardhaman Bank, Ramkoti, and Abids. They recovered 33.3 grams of cocaine and detained three suspects: 35-year-old Misbahuddin Khan from Nampally; 28-year-old Ali Asgar Gulabi from Banjara Hills; and 35-year-old Zubair Ali, a US citizen residing in Banjara Hills.
The primary supplier, Mohammed Azeem from Bangalore, remains at large, with police continuing efforts to apprehend him. The arrests mark a significant step in Telangana’s ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
