The Telangana EAGLE Force, in coordination with local police, busted two major ganja trafficking operations, arresting four individuals and seizing a total of 29 kg of ganja valued at Rs 14.5 lakh.
In the first case, officers from the EAGLE Force, Kukatpally police, and Cyberabad clues team intercepted Sachin Dilip Ranavare (37) and Laukik Ganesh Raut (21) while they were transporting 21 kg of ganja from Hyderabad to Pune. The drugs were concealed in travel bags and procured from Berhampur, Odisha. The duo was stopped near Metro Pillar No. 800 on the Kukatpally–Miyapur stretch. Ranavare, a repeat offender, had previously been arrested in July 2025 and released on bail in December 2025. Both suspects and the contraband were handed over to Kukatpally police for further legal action.
In a separate operation, the Warangal EAGLE Force, with Mahabubabad town police, arrested Venu and Anil (both 25) at Mahabubabad bus station, recovering 8 kg of ganja worth Rs 4 lakh. Authorities stated that the duo, acting under instructions from Naveen of Karimnagar, the alleged mastermind, had previously fetched ganja from Kalimela in Odisha’s Malkangiri district. A manhunt is underway to apprehend Naveen and dismantle the trafficking network.
Police confirmed this was the third instance the accused were sent to transport ganja, highlighting the organized nature of the syndicate.
