MADISONVILLE, Ky. — An Evansville man is facing meth trafficking charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 69 in Madisonville.
According to police, 38-year-old Ted Ballard III was driving north on I-69 Tuesday when officers noticed his vehicle drastically slow down to well below the speed limit after passing a patrol cruiser.
A license plate check reportedly revealed the vehicle did not have valid registration. Officers also determined that Ballard did not have a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance.
During the stop, police observed that Ballard’s eyes appeared glossy. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a bag containing approximately 4.5 grams of methamphetamine — an amount authorities say is consistent with trafficking. Officers also reported finding a meth pipe inside the vehicle.
Ballard now faces meth trafficking charges in connection with the incident.
