JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – A Nettleton School District teacher, Delecea Hinson, 39, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, April 26, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and hazardous driving following a night at Midnight Rodeo, a nightclub on Fair Park Blvd.

According to Patrolman Cameron Keleman, Hinson was behind the wheel of a 2022 Chrysler 300 when she was pulled over in the club’s parking lot around 1:28 a.m. A field sobriety test revealed a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.22—nearly three times the legal limit in Arkansas.

Hinson was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center at 1:41 a.m. and released at 7:26 a.m. on an own recognizance (OR) bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

According to public records, Hinson is an art teacher employed by the Nettleton School District. When reached for comment, Superintendent Karen Curtner declined to speak, citing personnel confidentiality. K8 News has also reached out to the district’s attorney.

The incident has raised community concern, though as of now, no formal disciplinary actions have been publicly announced by the school district.
