BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Augustine Rendon, a former teacher at Jubilee Lakeview, was arrested on July 7 for allegedly taking photos underneath the skirt of a 7-year-old student, according to a San Antonio police affidavit.
Court documents state that the young student informed her mother that Rendon had called her to his desk and secretly moved his phone to his lap with the camera pointed upward. The child reported hearing the camera shutter during the incident.
Police executed a search warrant on Rendon’s phone and discovered eight images taken during the encounter, six of which showed the child’s intimate area under her skirt.
Lorraine De Leon, regional associate superintendent at Jubilee Lakeview, confirmed to KSAT that Rendon was immediately removed from his position once the school was made aware of the incident. Rendon is no longer employed at the school.
“At the time, there was no indication of any other incidents involving other Jubilee students or staff,” De Leon added. She also confirmed that Rendon has had no contact with other students or campuses since his departure.
Rendon posted a $50,000 bond on July 8, according to jail records.
