Two men have been arrested in Tallapoosa County following a major narcotics investigation, according to the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force.
Taylor Turner, 33, of Dadeville, faces multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl, and amphetamines, unlawful possession of controlled substances and marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Richard Peppers, 38, of Notasulga, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and amphetamines, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
The arrests came after investigators, alongside the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a Dadeville location on Overlook Drive. Authorities seized approximately 150 grams of methamphetamine, 2 grams of fentanyl, 131 Adderall pills, 28 Xanax pills, 14 grams of marijuana, 1 gram of marijuana dab, 18 ounces of “Lean” (Codeine/Promethazine), and 100 ounces of GHB.
In addition, law enforcement confiscated a 9mm MKIII automatic Sten gun, a Sig Sauer .40 caliber pistol, a Llama .45 caliber pistol, tactical gear, and various drug paraphernalia. Officials estimate the operation removed roughly $7,000 worth of narcotics from the streets of Tallapoosa County.
The Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force emphasized that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug activity in the region.
