BELL COUNTY, Ky. — A Bell County man has been indicted on a first-degree fetal homicide charge.
Taylor Dehart, 35, was arrested on Friday, February 13 after allegedly causing the death of an unborn child. According to a press release from the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, Dehart inflicted blunt force trauma to the pregnant mother’s abdomen and placenta, resulting in the death of the fetus.
Authorities said multiple law enforcement agencies from Kentucky and Tennessee coordinated a fugitive operation on February 13, which led to Dehart’s arrest.
In addition to the fetal homicide indictment, Dehart was wanted for failure to appear, fourth-degree assault, and probation violations in both Kentucky and Georgia.
Dehart was taken into custody at the Claiborne County Jail and will be extradited to Bell County to face charges.
