An Aramark contract employee was arrested Tuesday after allegedly trafficking synthetic marijuana and tobacco into the Plainfield Correctional Facility in Indiana.
Superintendent Stanley Knight confirmed that Tawny Jackson was taken into custody and charged with trafficking with an offender, a Level 5 felony, and dealing in synthetic marijuana, a Level 4 felony.
Investigators said Jackson had been smuggling “spice” — a street term for synthetic marijuana — and tobacco to inmates. During questioning by the prison’s Investigation and Intelligence Division, Jackson reportedly admitted to the trafficking. A subsequent search revealed 55 grams of spice in her possession.
Jackson was arrested and transported to the Hendricks County Jail for processing.
