Tarrell Thomas Sentenced to 4 Years for Battery with Deadly Weapon

Evansville man avoids attempted murder charge in plea deal

by Sophia Bennett

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Court records reveal that Tarrell Thomas, an Evansville man previously charged with attempted murder, has been sentenced to four years in prison.

The charges stem from an incident in July of last year, when Thomas allegedly assaulted a victim and threatened to kill them. The victim sustained severe injuries and required hospitalization.

As part of a plea agreement, the attempted murder charge was dropped. Instead, Thomas pleaded guilty to battery with a deadly weapon.
