COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities arrested Tarl Rollings, 47, of Jamestown, on July 18, charging him with eight counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrest came after Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The report led investigators to discover that Rollings possessed files containing child sexual abuse material. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, alongside the ICAC Task Force and support from the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office and the Summerville Police Department, conducted the arrest.
The case is currently being prosecuted by the attorney general’s office. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
Authorities continue to stress the importance of community vigilance in combating crimes involving exploitation of minors.
