Police in Shopian district of Kashmir arrested two alleged drug peddlers during a routine check operation on Thursday.
The accused, Tariq Ahmad Malla and Fardeen Ahmad Malla, were apprehended by officers from the Keegam police post in the Aribagh Pirpora area. Both individuals are residents of neighbouring Pulwama district.
During the search, authorities reportedly recovered 508 grams of a charas-like substance from their possession. The seized contraband has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the narcotics law.
Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to determine the source of the substance and any possible links to a larger drug network operating in the region.
