Ta’quan Howard Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop in Tompkinsville

Officer discovers marijuana, cocaine, fentanyl, and cash during search

TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – A 20-year-old man from Monroe County has been arrested after a routine traffic stop uncovered multiple drug-related offenses.

On January 23, Tompkinsville Police conducted a traffic stop for a minor violation. When officers approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of marijuana, prompting a search.

During the search, officers found 2.1 grams of suspected marijuana, 6.2 grams of suspected cocaine, 996 M30 fentanyl pills, and $732 in cash. As a result, Ta’quan E. Howard, of Tompkinsville, was arrested on several drug-related charges, including trafficking in a controlled substance (1st degree) and possession.

Howard was booked into the Barren County Detention Center. A court appearance is scheduled for January 28.
