A special squad from the Kunnamangalam police station made a significant breakthrough on March 14 by arresting two Tanzanian nationals, Kilekamajenga David Nteme (22) and Myonga Atka Haruna (21), who were allegedly involved in a series of inter-State synthetic drug trafficking cases.

The suspects were apprehended in Punjab following a tip-off from three youths who had earlier been arrested in connection with a major drug trafficking case. The youth’s confessions led police to Nteme and Haruna, who were found to be linked to a network smuggling synthetic drugs across multiple states.

Sources revealed that the two arrested individuals were pursuing professional graduation courses at Lovely Professional University in Punjab at the time of their arrest. Investigations revealed they were part of an international drug trafficking ring.

The special squad, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police A. Umesh, successfully identified the suspects using bank transaction details and other clues gathered from various locations. The police tracked their movements, which ultimately led to their arrest in Punjab.
