TAMPA, Fla. — Three individuals were arrested following a significant drug bust in Tampa after police found thousands of grams of narcotics, cash, firearms, and skimming devices during a search warrant execution.
According to the Tampa Police Department, detectives served a warrant on Tuesday night at a residence in the 1000 block of E. Poinsettia Avenue. The search uncovered:
Thousands of grams of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and prescription pills
Thousands of dollars in cash
Four firearms
Electronic devices used for fraudulent activity, including skimmers
The suspects arrested include:
Tanya Ruiz, 26: Charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia
Eric Hallas, 31: Charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia
Dimitrii Roberts, 31: Charged with armed trafficking in fentanyl, maintaining a public nuisance structure, possession of a firearm during a felony, armed possession of a controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia possession
Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw emphasized the dangers posed by narcotics and firearms, stating, “Narcotics like fentanyl and methamphetamine are destroying lives, and the presence of firearms only makes these crimes more dangerous. We will not allow our residents or visitors to be put at risk by this kind of activity.” He praised the police work that led to the seizure and arrests.
