In a major crackdown on narcotics, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (North Zone), in coordination with the Bollarum police, arrested four individuals involved in ganja peddling near Mission Model School and Freedom Foundation in Bollarum. Authorities seized 3.8 kilograms of ganja during the operation.
The main accused, Tamata Sanjay, also known as Tuna, is a notorious rowdy-sheeter from the Marredpally police station with a criminal history involving 24 cases. Alongside him, police apprehended his cousin and transporter Tamata Shiva Singh, linked to 12 previous cases and listed as a suspect at Tukaramgate Police Station.
Two others, Jwala Deepanshu Kumar (alias Bad Boy) and Ravula Naresh, were caught acting as sub-peddlers. The main supplier, Subba Rao from Araku (Andhra Pradesh), is currently absconding.
Police investigations revealed that Sanjay and Deepanshu, motivated by a desire to sustain a lavish lifestyle, conspired to procure ganja from Araku and sell it across various Hyderabad neighborhoods, including Balajinagar, Yapral, Awal, Bollarum, and Tirumalgherry.
Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement first caught Deepanshu and Naresh with 2.3 kg of ganja. Subsequently, Sanjay and Shiva were also arrested with 1.5 kg of the substance.
