Hyderabad police arrested seven ganja peddlers at the parking area of James Street Railway Station, seizing 8 kg of ganja valued at Rs 2,40,000. Two customers of the peddlers were also subsequently apprehended.
The main peddler, Tamata Sanjay (24), hatched a plan to transport ganja from Araku, Andhra Pradesh, to Hyderabad for easy profits. His cousin, Tamata Pavan (26), allegedly assisted in moving the drugs and both have prior records as rowdy sheeters at Marredpally police station.
Other associates involved in the trade include:
Jwala Deepanshu Kumar (22) – Zomato delivery agent
Dappu Kiran Kumar (19) – Mediplus employee at Babaguda
Koguru Naveen Kumar (22) – Car driver
Muthu Krishna Rohith Kumar (26) – Snake catcher
Marpu Joel Vanshika (22) – Electrician cum contractor
The arrested consumers of the ganja were identified as:
Thota Harshavardhan (27) – Private employee from Sapthagiri Colony, Medchal
Dasari Dikshit Sai Kumar (23) – Rapido driver from Tukaramgate, Secunderabad
Authorities noted that the main supplier, Subba Rao from Araku, remains at large, and further investigation is ongoing.
