In an ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking, Kulgam police arrested an alleged drug peddler and seized contraband substances from his possession.
The accused, identified as Talib Hussain Sheikh, son of Khurshid Hussain Sheikh, hailing from KG Raina, Wanpoh, was apprehended at Khudwani Bypass, police officials confirmed.
Upon searching him, police recovered:
30 grams of cannabis
500 grams of a grinded cannabis-like substance
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to trace the source and possible network behind the contraband, a police spokesperson said.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on drug peddling across the region.
