DAVENPORT, Iowa — A 21-year-old man identified as Taejon McFulson faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing a car, burglarizing a local vape shop twice, and resisting arrest while armed with knives, according to Davenport Police.
On August 10, officers responded to a report of a stolen Kia Optima from a residence in the 1900 block of Valley Drive. The vehicle was later found abandoned on Valley Vista Drive. The victim showed police Facebook videos of McFulson, posted under a vanity account, where he was seen driving the stolen car around the Quad Cities. A search warrant confirmed the account belonged to McFulson. Several electronics were missing from the vehicle.
In a separate incident on September 16, McFulson allegedly used a stolen key to enter Essentials Vape and Smoke Shop on W. 53rd Street after hours, taking merchandise valued under $300 without paying.
Just two days later, on September 18, police returned to the same vape shop for a follow-up and found McFulson inside. When officers attempted to arrest him, he resisted and had to be restrained. A search revealed an 8-inch butcher knife in his waistband and a folding knife in his pocket.
McFulson was arrested and charged with:
Second-degree theft (felony)
Third-degree burglary (felony)
Probation violation (felony)
Interference with a weapon (felony)
Fifth-degree theft (misdemeanor)
Interstate detainer
He is currently being held in Scott County Jail with no bond and is awaiting his initial court appearance.
