The Asifnagar police on Wednesday apprehended two suspects, including a juvenile, for attacking a man with a knife and robbing him of his mobile phone in Zeba Bagh, Hyderabad.
One of the accused was identified as Syed Rehan, 18, while the second is a minor. According to police, the incident took place on Sunday afternoon when the victim, Imdadullah (45), had parked his car and was walking alone.
Without warning, Rehan and the juvenile attacked him with a knife and stole his mobile phone before fleeing. Imdadullah later filed a police complaint.
Acting swiftly, Asifnagar ACP K Vijay Srinivas formed special investigation teams. By reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations, the police were able to identify and trace the suspects. Upon interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime.
The police have urged citizens to remain alert and report suspicious behavior to prevent such street crimes.
