The Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended a man for attempting to enter Srinagar International Airport using a forged airline ticket.

According to officials, Budgam Police registered an FIR after stopping the individual during routine security checks at the airport’s drop gate.

The accused has been identified as Syed Khurshid Ahmad, a resident of Bugro, Khansahib in Budgam district. Upon verification, his air ticket was found to be counterfeit.

Airport staff promptly alerted authorities, and Khurshid Ahmad was handed over to the Humhama Police Post, leading to his arrest.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused was allegedly misled by a travel agent who provided him with the forged ticket. A case under relevant legal provisions has been registered at Budgam Police Station, and further inquiries are ongoing.

Authorities are urging travelers to verify ticket sources and exercise caution to avoid falling victim to similar scams.
