LOVELL, Maine (WGME) — A Stoneham woman is facing charges after leading police on a reckless, multi-town chase through Oxford County on Wednesday morning.

Around 7:50 a.m., a deputy from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office spotted a Jeep Cherokee driving erratically on Route 5 in Lovell. The deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, but 34-year-old Sydney Whitelaw refused to stop and sped off, leading authorities on an 11-mile chase through Lovell and into Stoneham.

The chase ended when Whitelaw pulled into her driveway and came to a stop. Deputies promptly arrested her, charging her with criminal speed and eluding an officer.

Whitelaw was taken to the Oxford County Jail for processing.
