Division number 3 police arrested Sushil Kumar on Monday for allegedly murdering his live-in partner, 20-year-old Radhika, in Fatehganj Mohalla. Police reported that the accused strangled Radhika following a heated argument fueled by jealousy over her communication with her ex-husband and another man.
Radhika’s body was discovered on June 10 after neighbors detected a foul smell from the rented house, which was locked from the inside. Concerned locals alerted the landlady, Gurwinder Kaur, and Krishna, Radhika’s brother, who resides nearby. Upon breaking open the door, they found her body hidden beneath a pile of clothes and immediately informed authorities.
Inspector Aditya Sharma, SHO of Division number 3 police station, confirmed that Sushil Kumar was arrested in Gonda district. Kumar confessed to the crime and stated that Radhika continued to stay in contact with her ex-husband, Rahul. Sushil also revealed that he had asked Radhika’s sister, Asha, to intervene and convince Radhika to sever ties with both men.
Inspector Sharma added, “Days before the murder, Sushil had a confrontation with Radhika over the matter, after which he left Ludhiana for Mumbai. Radhika later traveled to Mumbai to bring him back.” The police have registered a murder charge against Sushil Kumar, who allegedly strangled Radhika to death.
