Chennai: Two employees of a private software company in Anna Nagar have been arrested for allegedly misappropriating nearly Rs29 lakh from their employer.
The accused have been identified as Suresh (40), a resident of Ayanambakkam, and Alex (25) from Thiruverkadu in Avadi. Police said the duo allegedly diverted company funds for personal use, causing significant financial loss to the firm.
Based on a complaint filed by the company management, a case was registered and an investigation was launched. Preliminary inquiries reportedly revealed discrepancies in financial records, leading to suspicion against the two employees.
Following further verification of financial transactions and internal records, police arrested both accused on charges related to criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of funds.
Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine whether others were involved and to assess the full extent of the financial irregularities.
