On Monday, the Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested drug peddler Vivek Trivedi in the city and seized Rs 2.5 lakh from him. Trivedi, a resident of Surat, is accused of supplying drugs worth lakhs of rupees to Aadib Patel in the city.
Patel had been arrested by the SOG in December of last year, when over Rs 22 lakh worth of marijuana was seized from him. During his interrogation, Patel revealed that Trivedi was the source of the drugs, leading to the police launching a search for him.
The SOG stated that the cash seized from Trivedi was the earnings he had made from selling drugs. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover more details of the illegal drug trade in the region.
