On February 12, 2025, the Nurmahal police arrested Suraj, alias Chhotu, a 30-year-old resident of Tagarr village, for consuming heroin. During his arrest, police recovered a lighter, silver paper, and a plastic pipe, all of which are commonly used for consuming contraband substances.
The arrest was made under the provisions of the NDPS Act, with a case registered against Suraj under Sections 27, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police officials have urged the public to be vigilant against drug abuse and continue their crackdown on drug-related offenses in the region.
