MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two employees of Superlo have been arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $100,000 from the store over the past year by manipulating customer void transactions.

Kevin Hervey, 42, and Tamika Nowley, 43, face charges of theft of property valued between $60,000 and $250,000.

The investigation began on March 25, 2025, when the regional director at the Superlo located on 6532 Winchester Road filed a theft report. The director noticed an unusually high number of voids linked to Hervey’s assigned computer number after reviewing a printout dated March 16.

A forensic audit revealed that Hervey had been using his computer access since January 2024 to void cash payments from customers, pocketing the money. Surveillance footage showed that Nowley, the store manager, used her computer number to void food items Hervey returned, handing him the cash and allowing him to leave with the merchandise.

The director stated that Nowley failed to report the suspicious void transactions and collaborated in the theft scheme.

Superlo suffered a loss totaling $98,647.75.

Both Hervey and Nowley were identified in a six-person photo lineup and subsequently fired for theft. Nowley is currently held in jail on a $125,000 bond, while Hervey’s bond has not yet been set. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
