According to Additional DCP (Central Noida) Shavya Goyal, the trio received fraud-related funds into their bank accounts and took undue advantage of the money transferred by the victim.

The fraud unfolded after the Noida complainant was contacted by individuals posing as employees of a reputed investment firm. They lured him with promises of massive returns through stock market investments. Believing the scam, the victim transferred a total of Rs3.26 crore.
A case was registered on June 12, and an investigation was launched. Several bank accounts were promptly frozen to prevent further misuse of the funds.
