Three men were arrested on Sunday for the brutal murder of a 70-year-old man, Ramsheesh Pandey, during a robbery attempt at his home in Dhaula Pandit village on July 13.
According to Superintendent of Police Vikrant Veer, Pandey’s body was discovered a day later inside his residence, prompting an immediate investigation. On Sunday, police arrested Sunny, Amit, and Bholu near the Lavrakshi railway crossing in connection with the case.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to entering Pandey’s home at night intending to steal valuables. When Pandey awoke, the trio panicked and stabbed him with a screwdriver to avoid identification. After the murder, they placed the body in a room and fled the scene.
Police recovered mobile phones, ATM cards, some cash, and the screwdriver used in the crime. Authorities say further investigation is ongoing, and the accused will be produced in court.
