The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) arrested two men, Sunilsingh Sikligar and Gurmukh Sikligar, on Sunday for their involvement in a series of burglaries across the city. The suspects had previously attacked police officers during a failed burglary attempt in the Sama area.
Acting on a tip-off, DCB officials set a trap and intercepted the duo on Ajwa Road while they were traveling in a stolen car. When stopped, the accused tried to flee but were quickly overpowered. Police recovered a sword and a knife from their vehicle.
According to police, on June 21, the Sikligar duo was caught attempting a burglary in Sama. When officers arrived, the suspects tried to escape by assaulting the police and fleeing the scene. Investigations further revealed that the duo had stolen a motorcycle from Laxmipura last year and had committed at least one burglary there.
