Delhi Police have arrested 20-year-old Sumit Kumar in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the lives of two pedestrians in West Delhi’s Moti Nagar. The accused allegedly struck the victims with a speeding Tata Tiago before fleeing the scene.

The accident took place around 6:10 pm near the busy Jakhira Gol Chakkar. The victims, Munni Raj and Surajpal, suffered critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital, where both later died during treatment.

Police registered an FIR following the incident, and Sumit’s father, Sanjay Kumar, was also booked for permitting his son to drive without a valid license. Investigators are assessing whether excessive speeding contributed to the fatal collision.

Authorities continue to probe all angles of the case, including negligence, vehicle ownership, and potential attempts to evade accountability.
