The City Crime Branch’s Property Cell has arrested 63-year-old Sultana Shaikh, a resident of Dahisar, for allegedly creating a fake power of attorney using forged signatures of government officials and fabricated government office stamps. Police are actively searching for her alleged accomplices, Sameera Khan and Amit Tayde.

Officials said the case surfaced during a Bombay High Court hearing between Shaikh Constructions and Romell Housing. The court observed that certain documents bore the same registration number, prompting verification by the Joint Deputy Registrar’s Office in Borivli on October 9, 2025.

The verification revealed that the documents did not exist in official records and appeared to have been forged. A complaint was lodged by Vasant Roham of the Joint Deputy Registrar’s Office, alleging that a fake irrevocable power of attorney dated May 25, 2010, had been created using forged signatures and fabricated government seals.

Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and efforts are underway to locate the accomplices.
