The Delhi Police has arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly stealing cash and gold jewellery worth around Rs15 lakh from his live-in partner’s residence in south Delhi’s Maidan Garhi area.
The accused, Sudhir Kumar, a resident of Sangam Vihar, was taken into custody following a complaint filed by Arti Sharma. She reported that the theft occurred at her flat in Chhatarpur on February 16 between 8 am and 8 pm.
According to police, gold jewellery and Rs5 lakh in cash were stolen from the house.
Duplicate Key Led to Arrest
A case was registered at the Maidan Garhi Police Station, and an investigation was launched. During the probe, a key maker identified Sudhir Kumar as the person who had recently got a duplicate key made.
Acting on this crucial lead and using technical surveillance, police traced the suspect to Sangam Vihar and arrested him.
Recovery of Stolen Items
Officials said they recovered gold jewellery, Rs4.54 lakh in cash, and the duplicate key from the accused’s possession.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain additional details related to the case.
