The city crime branch arrested four men on Wednesday for possession and attempted sale of MD drugs valued at Rs60 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a car near Tata Steel Square, in front of Raen Basera on VIP Road, during an intelligence-based operation targeting illegal drug trade.
The accused identified themselves as Sudhir Chauhan from Ujjain district, Dilip alias Dulhe Singh from Agar district, Dharmendra Singh Sisodia from Jhalawar, Rajasthan, and Dule Singh Rajput from Agar district. Police recovered approximately 57 grams of MD drugs and seized the vehicle used by the suspects.
During preliminary questioning, the accused admitted to being habitual drug users. They revealed that they procured the MD drugs from other cities at low prices, intending to sell them at a higher price locally. A case has been registered against them under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act, with further investigations ongoing.
