Sterling Man Ryan Hicks Arrested for Morrison Bank Robbery

Suspect charged with aggravated robbery and burglary after July 5 heist

A Sterling man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery at Community State Bank in Morrison.

According to the Morrison Police Department, officers responded to the robbery report on July 5 at 10:47 a.m. A suspect handed a note to a teller demanding money, and the teller complied before the suspect fled the scene. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Following an investigation, police arrested 37-year-old Ryan Hicks from Sterling. Hicks faces charges of aggravated robbery, a Class 1 felony, and burglary, a Class 2 felony. He was taken into custody and held at Whiteside County Jail, with additional charges possibly pending.

The Morrison Police Department was assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, and the Sterling Police Department during the investigation.

Authorities continue to pursue further developments in the case.
