ELKTON, Md. — A Maryland man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Delaware.
Stephen Scott, 37, of Elkton, was arrested on Dec. 17 following a New Castle County Police investigation that began after a parent reported seeing an unfamiliar man near their home in Middletown.
Police say Scott contacted the teen via social media beginning in October, which allegedly led to multiple sexual encounters through December 2025.
Scott was charged with eight counts of rape, one count of sexual solicitation of a minor, and one count of unlawful sexual contact. He remains in custody at the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $1 million cash bail.
