NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A months-long drug trafficking investigation led to the arrest of two men in Nash County.
The Nash County Sheriff’s Office said detectives investigated the sale and distribution of drugs from a home on Wintergreen Road, following reports of multiple overdoses in the area.
Officials identified Stephen Pendergrass and Steven Hicks, both residents of Wintergreen Road, as suspects. Investigators said several people had overdosed at the home, but the men allegedly refused to contact emergency personnel to assist the victims.
On Tuesday, deputies executed a search warrant at the home, seizing:
45 dosage units of heroin
Crack cocaine
Marijuana
Digital scales
Drug paraphernalia
Hundreds of used wax paper bindles consistent with heroin packaging
Steven Hicks was charged with:
Three counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver heroin
Two counts of selling/delivering heroin
Three counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine
Two counts of selling/delivering cocaine
Possession of marijuana
Three counts of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Hicks is being held in Nash County Jail on a $100,000 secured bond.
Stephen Pendergrass was charged with three counts of maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and posted a $2,500 bond.
