CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A York man accused of stealing 54 bronze vases from a cemetery in Camp Hill has been arrested, according to the Lower Allen Township Police Department.
Stephen Glassick, 40, allegedly stole vases valued at $26,730 from Rolling Green Cemetery on Carlisle Road on November 24, 2024. Police said Glassick was charged earlier this year and taken into custody this week.
Cemetery staff initially reported more than 20 missing vases from the southeast corner of the property, but further review revealed that a total of 54 vases had been taken. The thefts were officially reported to police on December 3, 2024.
Investigators received a social media tip naming a woman suspected of involvement, but she denied taking part in the theft. She instead identified other suspects, including Glassick, as being responsible. Police later confirmed these claims through additional interviews.
In May 2025, officers interviewed Glassick at his home, where he allegedly admitted to stealing the vases and selling the bronze for scrap metal. According to police reports, he told investigators that he sometimes posed as a mourner and would take “20–30 vases a day” from cemeteries across Cumberland and York counties.
An arrest warrant was issued for Glassick on August 21, 2025, and he now faces theft by unlawful taking charges.
