SENECA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Stephen Maxwell Bruce, 48, of Seneca, pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter on Monday in connection with a drug overdose death.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on September 13 at Landon Drive, where two individuals were found to have overdosed. While one man survived, 58-year-old Karen Louise Wallace tragically died at the scene.

Investigators determined that Bruce had sold fentanyl to Wallace, which led to her fatal overdose.

Bruce was arrested in a separate investigation on November 13 after a traffic stop where he was charged with meth possession and driving under suspension. In the overdose case, he received the maximum sentence of five years in prison.
